SnapNDrag

I used SnapNDrag for several years and it is the best apps in this category

Does the job simply and easily

Ive tried a number of screen capture utilities but keep coming back to SnapNDrag because it does exactly what I need without a whole lot of bloat. It captures the selection/window/screen and makes it easy to deal with the result -- save to disk, drag and drop to Mail, an image editor, etc. Highly recommended.

Useful. Affordable. Elegant.

I’ve used SnapDrag for years, it’s always in my dock. Few apps make it there, and this deserves it’s place with honor. It improves on Apple screen capture in so many ways, it became a must have for me. Great job guys, keep up the good work. One feature request: renaming of many screenshots at once!

Love it!

It’s a must. I use it all the time when building presentation!

so good, I don’t know what more to ask for.

I started using this app, because my wife discovered it (not to impressed with the cute little thing). BUT…. shortly afterward it has become my only ‘go-to’ for selecting screenshots from anything I’m doing. I’m impressed with the rate of fixes and upgrades in features, I can’t use them all in my workload. But it remains intuitively easy to use. Kudos;)

3.5.6

Love it. used the previous version for some years and transition seamless. I like the command layout, the pulldown menus. It does a great job and I could not work without it when doing documentation. Sure there are other ways, but so far they don’t fit the way I work. SnapNDrag does fit my workflow, is compatible with ANYTHING on the screen, and the copy paste function, rename are great. Use them constantly, every day. Well done.

SnapNDrag is a Snap

If you take a lot of screen snap shots, then this is the app you. Just buy it even if you take occasional screen captures, as it is only $10 bucks and it works like a charm. It allows you fine tune your capture area and instantly re-use your last selection for quick mass screen captures. The ability to move captures into folders allows you to organize your multiple screen captures. You will be surprized how good the screen capture quality actually is, particularly if you enlarge an image before taking the screen capture, which increases the resolution of the screen capture. I use this app all the time to drag and drop images into reports.

Long time user

I have used the free version for many years, first as a Sc. teacher (retired 10 yrs ago) to easily insert graphics into assignments, test, etc. Has been coninually upgraded and finally decided to support SmugMug and bought the Pro version. Never regreted it. Great price, has all the features I need and I still use it several times a week. If you can’t decide - DO IT. DSq

Loss of functionality in later versions

The app was great at one point, but has lost functionality over the last few versions. The biggest flaw is using the hotkey to capture an area, the app seems to reclaim focus before allowing you to take the screenshot, and the sudden loss of focus means any mouse-over or hover states you’re trying to capture on your application is lost. No other screen capture app has this flaw that SnapNDrag does. Prior versions of SnapNDrag did not have this flaw either.

This App is way more functional than...

This App is way more functional than the built-in OS X Screen Capture App (called Grab???). I take up to 20 screenshots a day, and this App lets me view the photo series like it’s a "Video-Editor Story Board". For me, the ability to access all screenshots, and download them at any time, was well worth the money. The free version only allows you to save the latest screenshot to your ScreenShot Folder, older images can’t be re-saved.

Very close to perfect

First rate app. Only one option Id like now: could you provide an extra option in the default file naming. Right now its Screenshot_ or some name of your choice. But it could be even better if you provided a choice of ;sc (or other text of your choice) followed by the Date. You already use the Date for archive purposes ("2014-03-24"), so could just use this same auto-updating string for the naming of the screenshot. Thus: "SC2014-04-02_014.jpg". This would make finding an old screenshot taken some weeks/months ago *much* easier. Thanks!

Works efficiently and well

SnapnDrag simply works efficiently and well. I can take screen shots without having to worry about which folder they end up in. I can also save as a jpeg, png, or TIFF. As for finding them again, that could not be easier.

使い勝手がよいです

Free バージョンを以前から使っていましたが、AppStoreへの登場を機会に Pro バージョンを購入しました。 画面のスクリーンショットを用いた資料作成などが多い人にはお勧めです。

Brilliantly simple, wonderful interface

Exceptionally well thought out tool in an intuitive package! I’m currently moving mail and other tasks over from Windows to OS X, and I take a lot of screen shots in my work. In Windows we have Greenshot which is the queen of screen capture. It’s really great to find a complement in the OS X world. Furthermore, I just tested in on a Mac running Parallels, and I can even take a screen shot of my Windows apps too. Perfect! Well worth the modest price.

Happy User

Fantastic app. Easy to use. Major suggestion is to be able to annotate within the app before converting to pdf.

(UPDATED) I use it daily

UPDATE: I’ve been using this app for a few years, it is essential to my daily work. The developer keeps adding improvements and streamlining the workflow. Great! ------- this is a very useful app, a great way to capture and organize screen grabs and clips. I’ve not had any problems with it at all, updates come often with some good new functionality. please support this developer.

Great Snapshot App!

I’ve been using this for snapshots on my Mac for a few years and found it to be extremely flexible. It can snapshot a selection, window, full screen or timed (so you can get a snapshot with a menu open). When taking a full screen snapshot, it handles multiple monitor setups well and creates a snapshot for each screen at once.

Not as good as the free version…

…which is no longer available. So it’s $9.99 or find another product. As a graphic designer, I take screenshots all the time. I was happy with the free version of SnapNDrag, but wanted to support the developer and paid for the software. What a mistake. The current version of SnapNDrag Pro defaults to saving the image in PNG format. Every time. This is annoying, as I prefer to save most screenshots in JPG format. If the software would default to the format of the latest save, that would be fine. But no. The free version had much better control over JPG quality. It would, in real time, display the file size as the user adjusted JPG quality, in increments of 5%. Now there are only three JPG settings, LOW, MEDIUM, and HIGH. Thanks for dumbing down a useful feature. Also, what used to be a simple, straightforward interface has become a PITA. The folders feature means nothing to me. To sum it up, the $9.99 version is a step down from the free version. I would say the developers felt the need to justify the price and maimed the product in doing so. The app is worth $2.99 at best.

BEST Screen Shot App

I’ve tried a lot of screenshot apps on both major platforms and this is by far my favorite. It’s very easy to just launch it select from a few different selection options and it saves to its own little window where you can drag it to wherever you want.

Great tool!

Does what I need, captures screenshots. Allows me to annotate. You would think this would be an easy thing to accomplish but there aren’t many useful tools to do it. Perfect, nah, but great quality and the developers are responsive to feedback.
